Bold and detailed, this red Amanita Muscaria fungi emerges from the black background and almost glows. Historians think that this iconic toadstool mushroom was a traditional gift exchanged near the winter solstice in Northern European lands. Perhaps it’s red color and polka dots are where our culture draws some of our Christmas traditions.

This large, oval mushroom painting is framed in an ornate metal frame. The vintage frame is Italian made. It is ready to hang with the original hanging loop. Vintage convex bubble glass makes this artwork even more appealing. The glass has some imperfections concurrent with its age. Typically with flat glass, I choose to replace it if it has small imperfections. However, vintage bubble glass is so special and hard to come by, it was worth saving.
