This original watercolor of Crayfish was inspired by the many creatures that promote a healthy ecosystem and are fascinating discoveries in our freshwater systems. Pinchers like these were a thrilling discovery when I was a child. Flipping stones and pouncing on crayfish knee deep in cold water was a normal part of my childhood and the memories continue for my kids.
This crayfish is painted about actual size for a small critter. They can get bigger than this, the small antique silver pressed wood frame seamed like a perfect fit for this bluish crayfish. Complete with modern hangin hardware, it it ready to style on your curiosity shelf or hang on the wall.
